THE last great trial of Haymakers took place at Londonderry, before the Council of the Royal Society ofIreland, in August last. Tbe Machines exhibited there were Smith &; Ashbts, Nicholsons, and Sheridans. The trialland was full of deep broad grips, the cropwas heavy green Clover, upon which theMachines selected for trial were set towork. Smith & Ashbys Machine did itswork admirably, without a single failure,and was the only one that could clear thegrips without clogging and flying out of Agear. The Prize of 5/. was unanimouslyawarded to this Machine.
