The leaves are beautifully and distinct- ly marbled and splashed with silvery-white, yel- lowish-white and light and dark green ; very effective for screens, arbors, trellises, etc. As with the green-leaved variety, it is never injured by insects nor affected by the heat, but retains its fresh and bright variegated foliage until late in the autumn. (See cut.) 10 GIANT TULIP POPPV. (Hunnemannia Fumarisfolia.) 5935 In our trial grounds the past season this was one of the showiest and mo'-t satisfactory plants in over four hundred trials. The seed was sown early in May, and by the middle of July the plants were covered with their large buttercup-yellow poppy-lil;e blos- soms, and they were never out of flower until hard frost.
