A "Feuerstutzen", P. Villforth in Esslingen, circa 1880. Heavy octagonal and partly fluted barrel with guilloched top side. The maker's name engraved at the breech. Finely engraved, colour case hardened frame with figures of marksmen in between floral decoration, block lock. Double set trigger, adjustable peep sight. Nicely cut walnut half stock with the forearm shaped like a dog's head, with inserted glass eyes. The butt carries a medallion depicting a carousing huntsman.
