The tale of the Doomed Prince is found in the Papyrus Harris (some 1,500 lines), housed in the British Museum. After learning that divine powers have doomed him to be attacked by a serpent. With the help of a maiden, he sets out in search of his fate. The end of the tale is missing. The print is based on a painting by British artist Maurice Greiffenhagen (1862–1931).
