Covers were laid for fifty on appropriately decorated tables. Grip materially affected the at- tendance, many of the florists or mem- bers of their families being aflQicted. Mayor Durkan was to have been pres- ent, but, owing to the pressure of busi- ness, he sent an able representative in the person of Mr. Barrett, assistant city solicitor, who spoke with a great deal of interest and expressed his surprise at finding the Florists' Club such a large and active body.
