In1724 he was one of the taxables of Vin-cent township, Chester county, payinga tax of 2 S. 4 d. Therefore he musthave moved to Vincent some time be-tween these two dates. He first took up 600 acres of land inVincent township. Vincent townshipthen included both East and West Vin-cent, and consisted of about ; half of which belonged to theheirs of Major Robert Thompson, ofNewington Green, England, and theother half to the West New Jersey So-ciety, excluding probably some smalltracts which were actually sold to set-tlers.
