Recovering after hitting a window, a fierce-looking, sharp-clawed bird (likely an immature Cooper's Hawk), stands on a wet deck staring at the viewer.

The hawk hit the window of the photographer's house and collapsed on the composite wood deck. After some minutes of rest, the bird slowly recovered, standing up and resting until it was strong enough to fly off. The photo was taken from inside the house, through a window, close to the bird, but without actually approaching it.
