Pro Russian troops at the Belbek air base in Crimea surround a column of Ukrainian airmen
Shortly after several bursts of automatic gunfire had been fired as warning shots over the heads of the Ukrainian airmen who were defiantly trying to take up their posts on the flightline at Belbek air base. There were several dozen troops evident, they were all well armed, and it is suspected that they were actually Russian military personell. Many of the vehicles had Russian military number plates, although none of the troops wore insignia. They are so called "ghost army" soldiers
