Heinz Frie finished 18th in a time of 01:36:10, Alexander DuPont finished 20th in a time of 01:36:54 in the Mens Elite VMLM Wheelchair Race (T53/T54) of the 2018 London Marathon Heinz Frei (born 28 January 1958) is a Swiss wheelchair athlete. Frei has had a long career of racing, winning the London Marathon wheelchair race three times, and earning five medals at the 2003 European games at the age of 45. He has earned 15 gold medals at the summer and winter Paralympics and is a current world record holder in the half-marathon and marathon wheelchair races. He competed in athletics at every Summer Paralympic Games from 1984 to 2008, and at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 summer games he also participated in cycling, using a handcycle. At the Winter Paralympics, he competed in cross-country sit-skiing between 1984 and 2006 and in the biathlon in 1994. Frei plans on retiring from track competition at an event on 28 August 2009, though he will continue competing in road races. Canadian Paralympian Alexandre Dupont has made his country proud by striking gold in the 1500 metres wheel chair race at the 21st Commonwealth Games, Gold Coast, Australia currently on the way. We congratulate him not only for winning this race but also for being triple gold medalist from previous games since 2012 to date. Alexander won the race in style … beating the competition street and lane. t the age of 17 Alexandre Dupont lost his right leg in a motorcycle accident. About a year later he watched a wheelchair race from the 2004 Paralympics in Athens, Greece, on television. Dupont decided to try the sport. Thanks to his competitive nature and athletic ability, Dupont has found success on the track. In 2015, he was a triple gold medallist at the Toronto Parapan American Games with victories in the 400m, 800m and 1500m. He has competed at the last three IPC World Championships helping Canada to gold in the 4X400m relay in 2013 and bronze in the same event in 2011.
