The Sterling care is big to defeateasy breakage, by heat or acci-dental shocks. Being large, itpresents an unusually large in-sulating surface inside the ex-plosion chamber. The under side of the core shouldergives a level seat in the shell. Theconical fit of the gland nut furtherprevents leaning. Monel Metal forms the entirelength of the electrode.
