During Spring the front of cherry blossoms traverse Japan from South to North available for about a week in every location. Japanese set calendars for cherry blossom sightseeing. I arrived in Tokyo when cherry blossom was at the end so I travelled North to Matsumoto to be able to enjoy cherry still in full blossom.
