TREATMENT PROVIDED: The pH was recorded before and after treatment: , after The volumes were collated and inks were tested for solubility. The head, , andpages were dry cleaned where necessary; the pages werewashed and then buffered (deacidified) with magnésiumbicarbonate solution. Tears were mended and foldsguarded where necessary with Japanese kozo paper andwheat starch paste.
