Maharishi Mahesh Yogi inaugurates the First Celebration of the Age of Enlightenment
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Transcendental Meditation Technique and the World Gevernment of the Age of Enlightenment, determined in 1976, that it should become a part of the annual calendar to celebrate the changing seasons four times per year. The first ever of these celebrations was held in the Opera House in Lucern Switzerland, with an audience of participants in Maharishi's "Six Month Programme", an extended meditation course designed to develop consciousness through deeper experience of the field of unboundedness, the home of all the Laws of Nature. Other members of the audience included a small group of families who were participants in a TM teacher training programme based in Viznau.
