Visscher was one of the first artists of his generation to draw simple rural motifs directly from nature. Although the subject and composition of this peaceful view are reminiscent of Visscher’s drawings, the sheet lacks his freedom of line and is probably better assigned to one of his circle or to an artist under his influence
