Recruits with Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, run laps during a physical training session at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Jan. 23. The 400-meter dash was conducted to help develop the recruits’ endurance for a long-distance run. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Charlie Company is scheduled to graduate April 6.
