Followed the Great Lakes as sailor since his boyhood. Was born inJefferson County, N. Y., in 1853. We well remember him as the genial cap-tain of the City of Grand Rapids, owned by Hannah, Lay & Co., and on aroute between Traverse City and Mackinaw. For a number of years he has had charge of the lake freight and passengertraffic at Charlevoix. He was married Dec. 31, 1883, to Miss Rose Risley ofNorthport. GRAND TRAVEKSb; REGION 67.
