The existing passenger station of at Vancouver, located at the footof Granville Street, near the shore lineof Burrard Inlet, was built about four-teen years ago, and except for minoralterations is unchanged from its orig-inal plan. The general waiting roomand ticket offices are at the street level,and the baggage room is on the tracklevel, which is about 30 feet below thestreet. Alcng the water front, across. January 2, 1913 CANADIAN MACHINERY 19 the local freight yard tracks, are locat-ed the steamship wharves. There aretwo large sheds on a jetty pier of recentconstruction used by the Trans-Pacificsteamship lines; also five sheds adjoin-ing the longitudinal wharves used bythe Seattle, Victoria, Alaska and othersteamship lines of the Canadian PacificRailway. Between the wharf sheds andthe passenger tracks adjoining the pas-senger station, certain of the freighttracks serve the several sheds, and othertracks are used for drilling and yard tracks extend along the harborfront about IV2 miles. Detail of Improvements. The general scheme embraces a pas-senger station and office building suit-ably located on available land immedi-ately east of the present passenger sta-tion. There will be four passengertracks with provision for more whenrequired, separated by wide platforms,between the station and the presentfreight yard. The
