Temple IV, in the Mayan acheological site of Tikal is the tallest pre-Columbian structure still standing in the New World at metres (212 ft) in height. The pyramid was built to mark the reign of the 27th king of the Tikal dynasty, Yik'in Chan K'awiil and completed about 741 Tikal National Park, Guatemala.
