November 22, 2012, New York, NY. Many retailers opened their doors on the Thanksgiving Day holiday to try to lure holiday shoppers ahead of the traditional Black Friday shopping rush. People lined up outside the Toys R Us store in Times Square ahead of its 8PM opening. They were given Santa Claus hats and the line wrapped around the block from the store's entrance at West 44th Street and Broadway, up Broadway to West 45th Street then down West 45th Street towards 6th Avenue.
