A successful catch. Costa Rica: THESE IMAGES show an ?owl-some? pint-sized owl celebrating its successful catch of a mouse by proudly hanging its lunch from its talons. One image shows the triumphant little owl showing off its prey, like it was flaunting its success to the photographer. The ferruginous pygmy owl, also known as the little owl, grows to inches, with a wingspan of 22 inches and weighs only 180 grams. These images were captured by photographer and business owner Milan Zygmunt (43) in Tarcoles, Costa Rica, using a Canon 1DX Mark II camera. ?Each species has a favourite place where regularly returns or where spends most of the time. I knew that this owl was in this place because I photographed it there before,? said late afternoon after the rain, I returned there and saw a quick movement as the owl sat down on a branch with already caught prey. ?The whole action was fast, but I managed to take a few pictures before the owl disappeared high into the treetops. ?Each raptor will change expression when it catches something, which is always nice to see. For example, a cute owl becomes a ruthless killer, which can be seen in their eyes. ?I'm always very happy when I get shots like this because it´s not common to see it every mediadrumimages/MilanZygmunt
