The canvas bottom slides from underneath the paper and delivers the fruit on your packing table without the slightest injury. This vessel is an oblong metal pail larger at the bottom than top, equipped with canvas bottom which slides from underneath the fruit, simply laying it on the bottom of the box or where desired, without dis- turbing the fruit, the bell-shaped pail lifting of¥ without injuring the fruit at all. The vessel holds one-half bushel or half box of apples, and in emptying the second time the canvas bottom eases the fruit in the vessel on that in the box without bruising or scratching, which is practically impossible with the wood or metal bottom pail.
