African clawed frog (Xenopus laevis) being sexed, measured and electronically tagged as part of a research project recording the geographical expansion of the frog's range in South Africa. Previously used in pregnancy testing and now common as pets, the African clawed frog has become an invasive species in many countries, although it is native to South Africa. The research is being jointly undertaken by the Universities of Stellenbosch and Cape Town. Photographed in Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa.
