FLOWEIKillOWERS chiugo system will result in a saving of twenty- five per cent in the heating cost. "Weiss & Meyer Co., at Mayweed, is equip]>ing one of its boilers for oil, using the system known ;is the Johnson burner. Fuel oil at present is worth about 5% cents per gallon in car lots in this market. Various Notes. '*? After a fortnight 'a siege with lum- bago, Hans Jepsen again is able to give full-time attention to his greenhouses at Maywood, where the mums and pom- pons are just coming into season. Those who thought his plants looked jjood l-a^t year say they are still better this year. At the range of the Beu Floral Co., 4445 North Crawford avenue, everybody has been busy planting Lilium formo- sum. Approximately $5,000 worth of lily bulbs, in their cases, were seen here. This grower has an excellent stock of ferns and chrysanthemums at this time. Construction work on the installation of two new fuel oil storage tanks, with a combined capacity of 22,000 gallons, is almost completed, the only thing re- maining to be done being the covering of the tanks with soil. Mr. Beu stated that he was glad to have the job fin- ished, as it was a laborious task digging into the hardpan and clay which were encountered in the subsoil. Mr. Beu sold drawings and specifications for his oil- burning system to seven florists last week. October 2 the E. C. Amling Co. began.
