Tsarina’s Chambers Against Rain Clouds in Summer (Zvenigorod)


View on the the old building of Tsarina’s Chambers with ornate windows and porch inside the Savvino-Storozhevsky monastery before rain in summer season. In the 17th century, the famous monastery in Zvenigorod (50 km west from Moscow) became a favorite place of pilgrimage for the royal family and the residence for Tsarina was built in 1650-1652 on its grounds to accommodate the first wife of Tsar Alexis (Aleksey Mikhailovich, father of Peter the Great) during their visits.
