To my mind the principal reason was the careless-ness often displayed in the printing and mounting of the viewsor stereographs, to say nothing of the fraud often displayedin deliberately mounting the views wrongly in order to cutprices and cheat the purchaser. Properly made there is nothingin the photographic line that gives more pleasure or satisfactionthan really good stereoscopic pictures, and if these few hintswill help some one to do really good work in that line, thewriter will be amply repaid.
