African penguin protecting egg


African penguin (Spheniscus demersus) protecting its egg. This species has distinctive pink glands above its eyes that become pinker as the penguin gets hotter. It also has a black stripe and a pattern of unique black spots on its chest. Photographed at Boulders Beach in Cape Town, South Africa.
