View SE of standing stone & kerb cairn at Strontoiller, Argyll, Scotland, UK, said to mark the burial place of Irish hero Diarmid, nephew of Finn mac Cumhail. A small quantity of cremated bone was found, & white quartz chips had been placed around the bases of the large granite boulders forming the cairn's retaining kerb. There is a stone circle close by, & other cairns in the area at the head of Loch Nell. The standing stone is used as a rubbing post by sheep.
