It consists of a canvas hose with apertures along one side, spaced about 20 inches apart, from which the water escapes into the furrows. These apertures are fitted with a regulating device to regulate or stop the flow of water. The hose is tapering in form to conform to the gradually diminishing volume of water. The standard size is 75 feet long and 6 inches in diameter at large end, and tapers to 1% inches diameter at small end. which is open.
