1964 Porsche 356C 4-Cylinder

Every year, just before the Super Bowl, Barrett-Jackson puts on one of the biggest auto auctions in the country. It has been several years since I have attended, primarily due to the threat posed by the COVID pandemic. There were a dozen or more huge tents to protect the majority of the vehicles to be auctioned off. Unfortunately, it was cloudy which made photography a challenge (because of low light levels) and it was quite chilly which challenged me to be selective in the choice of cars to photograph. Here we see a beloved classic 1964 Porsche 356C and what a beauty it is. The vehicle underwent a recent mechanical and cosmetic restoration and it is absolutely beautiful. Some non-car people say it looks like a VW but any similarity is superficial — this opinion from a former owner of a 1968 VW Beetle (first car after graduating from college). Power to the ground is provided with a 4-speed manual transmission, and the car rides on new disc brakes and new KONI shocks. It is finished in the correct Ruby Red, paint code 6402. The interior features a new German square-weave carpet and has a functional AM radio with the correct Blaupunkt blue-tip antenna. It comes with the Porsche factory tool kit, manual, and Porsche COA. If you're interested, I found a fascinating YouTube video featuring a nice country ride in the same model car from England to the hills of Scotland narrated by the driver, James Martin (a cameraman and car enthusiast). If you're interested, open your favorite browser and type "". It's a fun 10 minutes. This Porsche sold for $77,000.
