Princess Irene and Princess Margriet do not agree with the plans to cut down the Borrebos near Soestdijk Palace and build houses on the former grounds of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. In a letter to the city council of Baarn, they stated that they are "shocked" about the new plans. In several sessions, the city council examined the preliminary draft zoning plan for the former living and working palace of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard.
