Ritual Indian bells hanging at the Kali temple of Kamakhya, Nilachal Hill, Guwahati, Assam, North East India

The Kali temple of Kamakhya is on Nilachal Hill in Assam's capital city, Guwahati. A good example of Assamese architecture, it is said to mark the place where Sati's yoni (vulva) landed when her body fell to earth in 51 pieces, and is one of the most important Tantric temples in India. Animal sacrifice is part of the ritual here.
