LEON fast food restaurant in Soho, London.

LEON is a fast-food restaurant chain based on the idea of healthy eating. It was started in Carnaby Street in 2004 by the chef and writer Allegra McEvedy together with Henry Dimbleby and John Vincent and now has 13 restaurants in and around London. The menu is based on Mediterranean and British ingredients and has won awards and recommendations from the RSPCA and Soil Association among others. In 2009 McEvedy gave up her role to concentrate on writing, although she remains a shareholder. In July 2012 Henry Dimbleby and John Vincent were asked by Michael Gove to produce a School Food Plan for the Department for Education - a move criticised by school meal caterers, opposition MPs and Jamie Oliver as just another report.
