Aeration has the great advantage over lime treatmentthat it does not increase hardness, and further, as indi-cated by tests, it is more effective in reducing the corro-sive action when an equal amount of carbonic acid is leftin the treated water. A plant utilizing aeration wouldconsist of a number of nozzles for spraying the water, aconcrete pool and a storage basin with a capacity of aboutone hours run of the pumps. The plans for the present do not include the treatingof the Cook well supplies, but it is suggested that thesupply can be utilized in the future in this way if itshould be PHOTOGRAPH OF FILTER DISCS SMOWIING^XIIMENTFROM ONE GALUONOF WATER ■♦©•Q SI , Valve fix back- ?Z 1 SAND FILTER V Sand Meon E«J^ SfZC 0 34- Coeff »ty 25t>
