1921 photograph of a craftsman whose sole job was to make, refurbish or repair miners lamps for use in the British coal industry. He is using a machine marked Ackroyd & Best Ltd, safety lamp makers of Morley, Leeds, Yorkshire. They were sometimes referred to as Hailwood and Ackroyd Ltd. Oddly, they also minted coins and tokens including some for the East African Currency Board
