The Bayonne crosier is similar, but has in the volute onone side our Lord in Benediction between an Alpha and Omega,and on the other side the Virgin and Child enthroned, while thevolute terminates in a serpents head ; the heads of the figures areenamelled and the eyes set with pearls.
