PACIFIC OCEAN (July 18, 2017) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 2nd Class Luis Cervantes, a native of Clearfield, Utah, assigned to the Air department aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) prepares to conduct flight operations on the ship’s flight deck. San Diego is embarked on a scheduled deployment as part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, which is comprised of more than 1,800 Sailors and 2,600 Marines assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), and San Diego.
