Tai Ping Shan Street, past the Pak Sing Ancestral Hall towards ladder steps below the Kwun Yam Temple, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
Tai Ping Shan Street, south of Hollywood Road, is situated in one of the first areas of Hong Kong to be settled by Chinese from the mainland in the early days of colonial rule. The recently renovated Pak Sing Ancestral Hall, below the ladder steps in the picture, was founded in 1856 to house the ancestor tablets Chinese settlers brought with them from the mainland. The Kwun Yam Temple, at the top of the steps, honours the popular buddhist Goddess of Mercy, Kun Yam.
