Hyde Heath, UK. 17th November, 2023. A giant HS2 sinkhole has appeared in the ground on farmland and underneath a public footpath/bridleway in Hyde Heath, Buckinghamshire. The sinkhole is above where HS2 are tunnelling for the High Speed Rail 2 railway. The sinkhole has now been covered in black plastic and is being monitored by HS2. Fortunately nobody was injured when it happened. Another sinkhole appeared at Shardeloes near Amersham earlier this year which has now been filled in by HS2. Credit: Buckctrypics/Alamy Live News
