Elephant Gate, looking through to the Dipylon Gate, Copenhagen, Denmark

The Elephant Gate is a famous landmark near the original site of the Carlsberg Breweries. Built in 1901, it is named for the four large granite elephants which flank the gate on each side that carry a small tower on their backs. Through the Elephant gate you can see The Dipylon, or the Double Gate, a double-arched gateway built in 1892. The motto above the gate says "Work for Your Country"
