Staff Sgt. Shane Newell from the 380th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron uses a Motor Grader to spread fill material used to build up and stabilize the sub-base prior to placing base course material, Sept. 16, 2008. The grader is a precision piece of equipment that can level dirt to a 10th of an inch. ECES is preparing an area for war readiness materials in support of Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. Sgt. Newell is deployed from the 735th CES Ramstein Air Base, Germany, his hometown is Orlando, Fla.
