Incense Burner, Maya, Corozal Site, Belize
Postclassic Period AD 1400-1450 This warrior figure, dressed in woven cotton armour, was once part of a large incense burner. His mask, headdress and the fangs at the corners of his mouth suggest that he is either acting as a god or using the symbols to give him special powers in battle.
