The site chosen for the Exposition is atract of about one hundred and sixty acresof land on the eastern bank of the AshleyRiver, about two and a half miles from thebusiness center of the city, and within thecity limits. The slightly rolling countrylends itself readily to the varied and artisticeffects, and the magnificent live-oaks, withtheir shadowy and graceful pendants of. KXEDKAE, lUUKT IF PA LACKS. possessions in the West Indies, Philippines,Mexico and South and Central AmericanRepublics. Liberal space will be given to exhibitsof agricultural products peculiar to theSouthern States, such as tea, hemp andtobacco ; also to home exhibits of non-agri-cultural products, such as phosphates. Oneof the main features is the Textile Building,in which an object lesson will be given ofthe wonderful development of the cottonmanufactures. There will be extensiveexhibits of forestry, fish, fisheries and livestock. Good roads and Education areto be features of exhibit also, and the ex- Spanish moss, constitute a feature which nomoney could supply. Undoubtedly Charleston is one of themost interesting of the old Southern cities,containing as it does so many quaint, pic-turesque bits of architectural design ofstrictly colonial type. It is proposed toemphasize this fact by carrying out thisfeature in the Exposition buildings. Charleston belongs
