Electricity experiment. Historical artwork of the electricity researcher Abbe (abbot) Jean Antoine Nollet conducting an experiment. Here he is determining whether living in an electric field affects the growth of plants or animals. Nollet performed many experiments with electricity, finding that electricity flowed through bodies at great speed. This artwork is taken from Recherches sur les Causes Particulaires des Phenomenes Electriques, published in 1753.
