He was given excellent educationaladvantages, attending the Hawthorne school,select schools at Marion Center and Plum-ville, and the Indiana State normal his young manhood he was engaged inteaching in Indiana county for four years, inRayne and Burrell townships, and for twoterms taught in the select school at Haw-thorne.
