Berlin Friedrichshain, Karl Marx Allee. Frankfurter Tor (Gate) is a large square situated at the intersection of Karl-Marx-Allee and Frankfurter Allee. It was named when reconstructed after World War II. The two towers on the western side of the square are examples of the Stalinist architectural style and were built between 1953 and 1956 to plans by Hermann Henselmann. The Square and towers have listed building protection.
