Blue Plaque recording the house of Prince Frederick (the Grand old Duke of York) in Margate, Kent, England
The plaque commemorates a building built as a seaside home for Prince Frederick, Duke of York and Albany, who is the most likely contender for the 'Grand old Duke of York' of nursery rhyme fame. The blue plaques in Margate were designed by Frances Coleman and feature a Sturgeon based on that at the base of the lamps along Margate seafront.
