Number 6 NEW CHURCH ORGANIZED ATFRIENDSHIP CHAPEL NINETY CHARTER MEMBERS ! Friendship Presbyterian Church was or-ganized on June 6 with ninety chartermembers whne a commission of AshevillePresbytery met at the Chapel justoutside the Montreat Gate on Montreat-Black Mountain Highway. The commission was composed of King, Rev. Walter Styles, Rev. McClure, and Ruling Elder J. C. McClure presided in the absence ofRev. C. G. Davis, chairman, and preachedthe sermon. Monroe Fortune, Adrian Hardwick, LeeMorris and J. W. Russell were electedruling elders and Neal Whitaker and Pink-ney Riddle were elected deacons of thenewly organized Church which had carriedits old name of Friendship Chapel intothe new name by making it FriendshipPresbyterian Church. A committee wasappointed to investigate
