Monument of the Warsaw Uprising, Poland
The monument over the heroes of the Warsaw Uprising, on the Krasinskich Square, still evokes mixed feelings, as it did in 1988 when its intended form had been revealed to the public. Das Denkmal des Warschauer Aufstandes (Pomnik Powstania Warszawskiego) erinnert an die Kämpfer des Warschauer Aufstandes von 1944. Es wurde auf dem Krasiński-Platz vor dem Gebäude des Obersten Gerichtshofs in Warschau erbaut und am 1. August 1989 enthüllt. Die Erbauer waren der Bildhauer Wincenty Kućma und der Architekt Jacek Budyn.
