A zoomorphic Kifwebe mask of the Luba, Congo Wooden mask with polychromatic pigmentation, whitened with kaolin, with beautiful patina. High, slender shape with widely extending ram horns, a high crest and a slim, rectangular mouth as well as distinct geometrical, grooved decorations. Continuous holes for fixation. With traces of age and wear, colouring somewhat rubbed. Height circa 39 cm, width circa 40 cm. The distinct crest combined with the ram horns classify this extremely rare mask as a male type.
