It looks like a castle, but it's not, and that's what it says. Behind the seemingly historic walls of the old Potsdam City Palace lies the ultra-modern building of the Brandenburg State Parliament. The Brandenburg state parliament is located behind the restored façade of the Potsdam City Palace. Artist Annette Paul has added the words "Ceci n'est pas un château" in gold letters as an ironic distancing from the first impression the building gives, quoting René Magritte's painting of a tobacco pipe entitled "ceci n'est pas une pipe".
